Thanks, Laura, for including me on your distinguished lists. I'm honored by both the inclusion and your friendship. Happy New Year, my friend.

I suspected it had nothing to do with horses.

I need to give you back your book. That's a good idea about giving Finding Nouf as a gift. I have a friend I've been puzzling over what to get, and I think she'd enjoy such a good read, and the cultural understanding too.

Sorry, I haven't read HALF BROKE HORSES yet so maybe someone else can tell us about it without giving the plot away? My guess is that it's not about horses.

I'm glad that you lked FINDING NOUF. I'm giving it and UNDERTHE BRIDGE.COM and others on my list for presents this year.

I've read THE ROAD---spare and haunting. And I want to read HALF BROKE HORSES. Her first book was a page turner.

I just read EMILY'S GHOST and did an interview with Denise Giardina for the current issue of WV Living magazine. It's a great book, and I would recommend it, too, for Bronte fans and all. I also endorse the Anna Smucker and Ann Pancake books. I'm tempted to buy Eamon Grennon's book for Christmas now! My second floor is going to cave in soon from the weight of books!
